The protesters appealed to the authorities to provide them protection and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to the media, Akbar Ali Korai, Mai Safia, Asif Ali Brohi and other alleged victims claimed that influential individuals allegedly involved in drug dealing in their area\u2014including Nazar Korai, Asad, Muhammad, Siraj, Asif and Mithal Korai, along with several unidentified persons\u2014entered their home the previous day and allegedly subjected them, including women and children, to violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the protesters, the alleged attackers also issued serious threats and pressured them to leave the area and vacate their house immediately. The victims said they had been living in the area for a long time and that theirs was the only house belonging to the Brohi community there. They alleged that influential individuals were trying to forcibly evict them from their home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Akbar Ali Korai and others said they were poor labourers who earned their livelihood through daily-wage work to support their families. They said the alleged threats and pressure had made their lives extremely difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protesters further alleged that a report regarding the incident was lodged with the relevant police station, but police allegedly arrested only one suspect and later released him after allegedly receiving money. The allegation could not be independently verified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The protesters appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Sindh Chief Minister, Inspector General of Sindh Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Sukkur Range and Senior Superintendent of Police Sukkur, among other senior officials, to take immediate notice of the incident and initiate legal action against those allegedly involved in drug trafficking and violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They also demanded an effective crackdown on drug trafficking and protection for the affected family.
