TEHRAN: Iran\u2019s foreign ministry spokesman on Wednesday labelled a deadly US attack<\/a> on a wedding ceremony in the south of the country a \u201cwar crime\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The US attack in Sirik, southern Iran, killed four people <\/a>and wounded 67.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe truth of this unlawful war of choice \u2014 and the true face of the war crime \u2014 is in Sirik, where a wedding ceremony was brutally bombed as part of America\u2019s desperate struggle to conceal its failure,\u201d foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei posted on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n US Central Command (Centcom) denied targeting civilians, but Baqaei slammed the claim. Taking aim at Centcom spokesperson Tim Hawkins, he said the mouthpiece \u201chas forgotten his own<\/p>\n\n\n\n military record\u201d, listing examples of drone strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, Iran\u2019s Red Crescent Society (IRCS), in a letter to the International Criminal Court, has called <\/a>for legal action over the strike that it said constitute \u2018a war crime\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cGiven the reported civilian character of the location as the venue of a family wedding ceremony, as well as the presence of civilians at the site, the incident raises serious concerns under international humanitarian law and warrants an independent, impartial, thorough, and effective investigation,\u201d the IRCS said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2018New strategy\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Iran\u2019s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said the country would employ a \u2018new strategy\u2019 following the latest US strikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou will soon see that Iran\u2019s new strategy on the battlefield, in diplomacy and in confronting the economic blockade, will shatter your foundations,\u201d Mr Rezaei wrote on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Trump hints at uprising in Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n US President Donald Trump later told<\/a> reporters that the US \u201chit them hard last night, very hard. They gave a little love tap, but we hit them very hard last night.\u201d The US launched the attack \u201cbecause they took a shot at us in Jordan\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In response to a question, Trump suggested Iranian people may rise up against their leaders. \u201cI understand their plight; they\u2019re being shot\u2026 The regime is getting weaker and weaker by the day, and at some point they\u2019re not going to be able to shoot so easily, because people aren\u2019t going to take it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n On his Truth Social network, Trump suggested<\/a> renaming the Strait of Hormuz as Trump Strait. \u201cNow that we have it under USA control, should we change the name Hormuz Strait to TRUMP STRAIT???
