LONDON: What do you think is the most unforgettable moment of a person\u2019s life? The answer may vary from one individual to another, but a new study suggests that a large proportion of people share a similar view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to research conducted by British retailer John Lewis & Partners, 49% of respondents said that getting married is the most memorable moment of their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The birth of their first child ranked second, with 47% of participants describing it as the most special moment they had experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the death of a loved one was identified by 45% of respondents as an event they could never forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The study surveyed 2,000 people to examine the experiences and milestones that leave the strongest emotional impressions throughout life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Overall, 57% of respondents said that moments connected to family were the most unforgettable experiences in their lives. In contrast, only 4% considered work and career-related achievements particularly memorable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Researchers noted that life is constantly filled with significant experiences and milestones. Events such as moving into a first home, having children, going on holidays and reaching other major milestones can all become lasting memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They added that people generally do not look back fondly on routine office activities, whereas experiences involving family tend to remain deeply rooted in their memories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The study also found that nine out of 10 people believe it is important to preserve their special memories. Furthermore, 97% of respondents said they enjoy looking back on memorable moments from their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the research, 68% of participants believe that remembering happy moments can help them cope with difficult periods in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The study also identified a number of other experiences among the top unforgettable moments. These included becoming a parent, buying a first home, passing a driving test, falling in love, meeting a future spouse for the first time, losing a pet and getting engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The findings highlight the powerful role that personal relationships, family experiences and major life milestones play in shaping the memories people carry with them throughout their lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
