Sukkur (Bureau Report): The killers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) local leader Alamgir Khan Kosh have reportedly not been arrested even 19 days after his murder. The victim\u2019s family has appealed to the Sindh Chief Minister and Inspector General of Police Sindh to take immediate notice of the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a press conference at Sukkur National Press Club, the deceased\u2019s younger brother, Jehangir Kosh, alleged that 19 days ago, armed men opened indiscriminate fire in the Rahim Yar Khan area of Punjab during the night, killing Alamgir Kosh and two other people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jehangir claimed that despite the identification of the alleged suspects, including Ali Hassan Kosh, Ali Nawaz alias Gamboo Kosh, Sultan Kosh, Shamlo Kosh, Allah Warayo Kosh, Mashooq Kosh and Muhammad Kosh, among 12 others, police had failed to arrest any of the main accused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He alleged that instead of making arrests, police had merely taken formal action by burning the suspects\u2019 house. He further claimed that a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), comprising the SSPs of Rahim Yar Khan, Kashmore-Kandhkot and Ghotki, was formed to investigate the killing, but no significant practical progress had been made so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jehangir Kosh alleged that the family was still being harassed and claimed that influential forces could be behind the killing of Alamgir Kosh, whom he described as a supporter of peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said some elements were allegedly attempting to disturb peace in Kashmore-Kandhkot and stressed that the family would pursue the matter through legal channels. He expressed hope for justice from the officers included in the JIT, while alleging that SSP Ghotki Anwar Khetran was showing political favoritism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family appealed to President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho to ensure the immediate arrest of all those allegedly involved in the murder of Alamgir Khan Kosh and bring them to justice.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
