As a temporary measure, consumers in Manghopir, Mianwali Colony and other affected areas who have outstanding electricity dues have reportedly been given one month to clear their arrears and install new electricity meters.
However, electricity connections will reportedly be disconnected again if the outstanding dues are not paid and new meters are not installed within the given period. Meanwhile, no clear strategy has emerged from PPP public representatives, local office-bearers or K-Electric officials regarding the payment of outstanding dues and installation of new meters.
Political and social circles and local elders have expressed concern that no clear roadmap has been prepared by PPP leaders and K-Electric officials for a permanent solution to the electricity crisis. Residents remain unaware of how the outstanding dues will be recovered, what relief will be provided to consumers and how the installation of new meters will be facilitated.
According to political and social circles, the negotiations between PPP leaders and K-Electric officials resulted in a one-month timeframe to address the issue. On the other hand, PPP District West has announced a protest sit-in against K-Electric at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, in front of Abdullah College over prolonged power outages.
The alleged double policy of the PPP has triggered strong resentment among residents of District West, particularly in Manghopir, Mianwali Colony and adjoining affected areas.
Political and social circles have appealed to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and other concerned authorities to take urgent measures to permanently resolve the electricity crisis in Manghopir, Mianwali Colony and other affected areas and provide residents relief from alleged high-handedness by K-Electric management. Otherwise, local residents warned that they would launch a peaceful protest movement.

KARACHI (Report: PirbuxNoonari)KARACHI Public unrest is growing in Manghopir and other areas of Karachi’s District West due to the alleged double policy of Pakistan Peoples..

[3

post-13315","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961.png",800,927,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961-150x150.png",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961-259x300.png",259,300,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961-768x890.png",768,890,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961.png",800,927,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961.png",800,927,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-2026-08-30T180852.961.png",800,927,false
admin
["GET
