More than 30 Pakistani and Pakistani-origin runners took part in the 42.195-kilometre Sydney Marathon, competing alongside thousands of athletes from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among the Pakistani runners, Danish Elahi delivered the fastest performance, completing the marathon in 3 hours, 29 minutes and 7 seconds. He had previously said that he wanted to run in traditional shalwar kameez to present a positive image of Pakistan internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Noshirwan Ali from Karachi finished second among Pakistani runners with a time of 3 hours, 49 minutes and 11 seconds. Among the women, Dr Rabia Naeem was the fastest Pakistani female runner, finishing in 3 hours, 52 minutes and 25 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other Pakistani runners also completed the challenging race, with several recording impressive times despite the demanding 42.195-kilometre distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Geo News Deputy Sports Editor Faizan Lakhani completed his third full marathon in 4 hours, 54 minutes and 41 seconds. The Sydney Marathon was particularly significant for him as it marked his first World Marathon Major event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sydney Marathon route is renowned for passing iconic landmarks, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge, before finishing near the Sydney Opera House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
