The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday granted pre-arrest bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Seemabia Tahir in a case registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Justice Khadim Hussain Somroo approved Seemabia\u2019s bail application and directed her to join the investigation being conducted by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, a trial court had rejected her interim bail after she failed to appear before the court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On March 26, 2024, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi granted bail to Seemabia Tahir in May 9 cases. The ATC judge Ijaz Asif heard the case and granted her the bail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier, on March 16, 2024, the Rawalpindi bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) also granted interim bail to former MPA Seemabia Tahir Satti in a case related to interference in the state’s affairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The decision comes in response to a case filed against Seemabia Tahir at the Airport Police Station. Her legal counsel shed light on the intricacies of the case, providing insight into the circumstances surrounding Tahir’s interim bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seemabia Tahir served as a member of the Punjab Assembly from August 2018 until January 2023 after being elected on a women\u2019s reserved seat on the PTI ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She contested the 2024 National Assembly election from NA-57 Rawalpindi-VI on a PTI ticket but was unsuccessful. Tahir has a Master of Education degree and previously worked as a lecturer at Al-Khair University in Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
