Hamas emphasized that the peace force should remain at the borders and must not interfere in Palestine\u2019s civil, political, or security matters. Basem Naim, spokesperson for Hamas, stated that any involvement in internal affairs would be unacceptable and could be perceived by Palestinians as an occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The group specified that the role of the international personnel should be limited to separating the parties and maintaining the ceasefire, without taking sides. Hamas said it had no objection to the presence of the international force if it acted as a protective layer between conflicting parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
