He added that if treatment could not be provided at a government hospital, the former prime minister could be transferred to Shifa International Hospital.

The minister also indicated that the possibility of sending Imran Khan abroad for medical treatment could be considered, although such a decision would depend on the circumstances and the relevant authorities.

Chaudhry said the government had already stated in Parliament that it would implement the Supreme Court’s decision in full. He explained that the government had approached the Supreme Court only to seek clarification about the scope of the order.

According to the minister, the government wanted clarification on whether the court’s decision regarding hospital treatment applied specifically to one prisoner or whether it established a principle applicable to other prisoners across the country as well.

The remarks come as the government faces a deadline to implement the Supreme Court’s order concerning Imran Khan’s transfer to hospital. The issue has become a matter of political and legal debate between the government and PTI.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has described the day as decisive, arguing that the government no longer has an option other than transferring Imran Khan to hospital following the court’s direction.

Raja also said that the government had withdrawn its review petition against the hospital-transfer order. PTI has warned that it is prepared to pursue contempt-of-court proceedings if the government fails to comply with the Supreme Court’s instructions.

Earlier, the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office had returned the government’s review petition after raising objections to its filing. According to sources, one of the objections concerned incomplete paper books submitted with the petition.

The government was expected to address the Registrar’s objections and potentially submit a fresh review petition. The procedural development added another layer to the dispute over implementation of the Supreme Court’s order.

Chaudhry’s latest statement, however, suggests that the government remains committed to complying with the court’s direction regarding medical treatment. His comments also indicate that several possibilities could be considered depending on where appropriate treatment can be provided.

If treatment is not arranged at a government hospital, the minister said Imran Khan could be shifted to Shifa International Hospital. He also left open the possibility of treatment abroad, suggesting that the government could make such a decision if circumstances warrant it.

The controversy centres on both the implementation of the Supreme Court’s order and the government’s earlier attempt to seek clarification or review. While PTI maintains that the order must be implemented immediately, the government has sought judicial clarification on aspects of the decision.

The coming hours are therefore expected to be important in determining whether Imran Khan is transferred to a hospital and what facility will ultimately provide his treatment.

For now, the government says it is legally bound by the Supreme Court’s decision, while PTI continues to press for immediate implementation. Any decision regarding treatment abroad would represent a further development and would depend on the government’s assessment of the situation and applicable legal and administrative requirements.

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has said that the government is bound by the court’s order regarding the medical treatment of Pakistan..

[3

post-11908","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1.png",800,927,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1-150x150.png",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1-259x300.png",259,300,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1-768x890.png",768,890,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1.png",800,927,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1.png",800,927,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/11111-67-1.png",800,927,false
admin
["GET
