He added that kite prices increased on the fourth day, but availability remained ample.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Malik Faizan, <strong>over one million kite sets<\/strong> and <strong>more than 20,000 spools of kite string<\/strong> were sold in the markets on the fourth day alone. Prices ranged from <strong>Rs 700 for one-and-a-half \u201ctawa\u201d kites<\/strong>, <strong>Rs 400 for a single \u201ctawa\u201d kite<\/strong>, and <strong>Rs 300 for a \u201cpuna tawa\u201d kite<\/strong>. Two-piece kite spools were sold for <strong>Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He broke down the sales over the four days: <strong>Rs 160 million on the first day<\/strong>, <strong>Rs 180 million on the second<\/strong>, <strong>Rs 200 million on the third<\/strong>, and <strong>Rs 680 million on the fourth day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Markets in <strong>Inner Mochi Gate, Islampura, Sandha, Samanabad, Nonarian, Achhra<\/strong>, and other areas saw continuous trading of kites, kite sets, and spools throughout the festival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malik Faizan emphasized that kite flying remains a <strong>cultural highlight of Basant<\/strong>, contributing significantly to local commerce and providing business opportunities for small and large vendors alike.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lahore: The Legal Advisor of the Kite Flying Association, Advocate Malik Faizan Ahmed, reported that over Rs 1.22 billion worth of kite strings were sold in Lahore during the four-day Basant festival.
