The Iranian Parliament has declared the armed forces of European Union countries as terrorist groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to foreign news agencies, this move is in response to the European Union\u2019s designation of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the parliamentary session, members wore the IRGC\u2019s green uniforms to show solidarity with the corps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Footage broadcast on Iranian state television showed members chanting slogans such as \u201cDeath to America,\u201d \u201cDeath to Israel,\u201d and \u201cShame on Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Calling the EU\u2019s decision an \u201cirresponsible act,\u201d Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said, \u201cUnder Article 7 of the law concerning retaliatory measures against the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization, the armed forces of European countries will be considered a terrorist group.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the news agency, it is not yet clear what immediate impact this decision will have. The law was first passed in 2019 when the U.S. designated the IRGC as a terrorist organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf further stated that the Parliament\u2019s National Security Committee will consider the matter of expelling military attach\u00e9s from European countries and will coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this regard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
