This statement came at a time when a lawsuit was filed in a U.S. court, challenging WhatsApp’s claim of end-to-end encryption. The lawsuit argues that Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, may have access to users’ private messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The case was filed by users from countries like Australia, Mexico, and South Africa, who allege that the security protections within WhatsApp are not effective. The users claim that Meta employees have access to private messages and can bypass encryption systems to view them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The lawsuit references a statement from an anonymous whistleblower within Meta, who alleged that Meta\u2019s internal systems can bypass encryption and access users\u2019 messages, even deleted ones.
