The association’s chairman said the dealers had decided to give the government 72 hours to respond positively to their demands.

The chairman said frequent and daily changes in the prices of petroleum products were adversely affecting the petroleum retail business. According to the association, continuous fluctuations in fuel prices were creating uncertainty for dealers and making it difficult for them to manage their business operations effectively.

The association has demanded an increase in the profit margin of petroleum dealers to 8 percent. The dealers maintain that the existing margin is insufficient to meet rising operational expenses and other costs associated with running petrol stations.

The chairman warned that if the government failed to accept the demands within the stipulated 72-hour period, petroleum dealers would be compelled to close petrol pumps as part of their protest.

The possible closure of petrol stations could affect fuel supplies and create difficulties for motorists, public transport operators, businesses and other sectors dependent on petroleum products. The association, however, maintained that it wanted the government to resolve the matter through negotiations and avoid a situation that could disrupt fuel availability.

Meanwhile, the strike by the All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association is also continuing. The transporters have been protesting over their own demands and have refused to end their wheel-jam strike until the government accepts their demands.

The president of the Goods Transport Association said the strike would continue until the issues raised by the transporters were resolved. He made it clear that the transporters would not resume normal operations merely on the basis of assurances and wanted their demands to be formally accepted.

The simultaneous pressure from petroleum dealers and goods transporters has raised concerns about possible disruptions to fuel distribution and the movement of goods if the disputes remain unresolved.

Petroleum dealers have urged the government to take immediate steps to address their concerns, particularly the demand for an 8 percent dealers’ margin and the impact of frequent changes in petroleum product prices.

The association’s 72-hour deadline has now placed the government under pressure to reopen negotiations and reach an agreement before the threatened closure of petrol pumps.

If the ultimatum expires without a settlement, the petroleum dealers have indicated that they may proceed with the closure of petrol stations, while goods transporters have also vowed to continue their wheel-jam strike until their demands are accepted.

The situation is being closely watched by consumers and business communities, as any prolonged disruption in fuel supply and goods transportation could have wider economic and logistical consequences.

ISLAMABAD: The Petroleum Dealers Association has given the government a 72-hour ultimatum to accept its demands, warning that petrol stations across the country could be..

[8

post-10633","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1-300x171.jpg",300,171,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439831_4137246_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
admin
["GET
