SUKKUR (Bureau Report):<\/strong> A delegation of the Sindh Information Commission (SIC)<\/strong>, led by Commissioner-I Muhammad Saleem Khan<\/strong>, visited Aror University of Art, Architecture, Design and Heritage Sukkur<\/strong> and appreciated the institution’s educational, research and innovation-based initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation included Commissioner-II Noor Muhammad Dayo<\/strong> and Executive Director Zulfiqar Ali Sheikh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, Vice Chancellor Aror University Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand<\/strong> briefed the delegation about the university’s academic programmes, research activities and major achievements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice chancellor provided an overview of the institution’s development and highlighted the various initiatives being undertaken to provide students with modern and market-oriented education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioner-I Muhammad Saleem Khan appreciated the university’s active and dynamic educational initiatives. He also requested the vice chancellor to nominate a focal person<\/strong> who could maintain close coordination and cooperation between Aror University and the Sindh Information Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the importance of institutional collaboration in promoting awareness about transparency and citizens’ right to access information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commissioner-II Noor Muhammad Dayo said that the Sindh Information Commission<\/strong> was making extensive efforts to create public awareness regarding the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said greater awareness of the law could help citizens understand their right to seek information from public bodies and strengthen transparency in government institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the delegation also toured the Khan Aror House of Design<\/strong> and inspected the university’s four academic blocks, where various educational, creative and research-oriented activities were underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The members of the Sindh Information Commission interacted with students during their visit and asked them about their future ambitions as well as their academic and professional plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation members encouraged students to pursue their educational goals and develop skills that could help them contribute positively to society and the country’s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The officials also visited the university’s digital library<\/strong>, where they were informed that approximately 150,000 digital books and educational resources<\/strong> were available to students and faculty members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation appreciated the availability of extensive digital learning resources and said that access to modern educational material was important for students and researchers in the rapidly changing academic environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sindh Information Commission delegation also praised Aror University’s initiatives in the fields of education, innovation, research, industrial linkages, scholarships and international cooperation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation members said that such initiatives could provide students with opportunities to develop professional skills and establish connections with academic and industrial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a detailed briefing, Vice Chancellor Dr. Zahid Hussain Khand explained that Aror University was established in 2022<\/strong> and had expanded its academic and research activities significantly within a relatively short period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the university had introduced academic programmes in line with contemporary educational and professional requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These programmes include BS Artificial Intelligence (AI), Multimedia and Gaming<\/strong>, along with various programmes related to art, architecture, design and other relevant disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vice chancellor also briefed the delegation about the overall achievements of the university and highlighted the accomplishments of its faculty members and students in different fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He explained that the institution was working to provide students with opportunities to pursue innovative education while encouraging creativity, research and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation members appreciated the university’s efforts to combine traditional academic disciplines with emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, multimedia and gaming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They noted that the integration of technology and innovation into higher education was increasingly important for preparing young people for future employment and professional opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit also provided an opportunity for discussions on matters relating to transparency, access to information and institutional development<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants exchanged views on the importance of strengthening institutional communication and promoting awareness about citizens’ legal rights regarding access to public information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sindh Information Commission representatives said universities could play an important role in educating young people about transparency, accountability and their responsibilities as citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They also emphasized the importance of cooperation between educational institutions and public-sector bodies in promoting awareness of laws and civic rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
