The Iranian government accused the G7 of double standards on human rights and of using the issue as a political tool under US leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an official statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that recent unrest in the country, which it described as initially peaceful protests, was deliberately turned violent by \u201cZionist-backed terrorist elements.\u201d According to the statement, these groups carried out coordinated attacks against demonstrators and security personnel between January 8 and January 10, resulting in casualties and widespread disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
