HYDERABAD, August 11, 2026:<\/strong> Hyderabad Police have arrested 14 suspects, including women<\/strong>, during a series of operations against criminal elements, drug peddlers and suppliers of hazardous mainpuri and gutka<\/strong> in different areas of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The operations were carried out on the directives of DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo<\/strong> and SSP Hyderabad Shahzaib Chachar<\/strong> as part of ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and the sale and supply of banned and harmful substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press release issued by Hyderabad District Police, several operations were conducted by different police units, resulting in arrests, recovery of contraband and registration of criminal cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Police Operations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SHO Inspector Tahir Mughal<\/strong>, along with his police staff, conducted operations in different areas during routine patrolling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Police arrested two alleged sellers of hazardous mainpuri, identified as Zain Qureshi and Muzammil Qureshi<\/strong>. Police recovered 55 mainpuri packets<\/strong> from their possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A case, registered as Crime No. 136\/2026<\/strong>, was filed against the suspects under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another operation, police arrested alleged mainpuri seller Salman Qureshi<\/strong> and recovered 30 mainpuri packets<\/strong> from his possession. A case, registered as Crime No. 137\/2026<\/strong>, was registered against him under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police also claimed to have foiled an alleged attempt to supply gutka by arresting two women, identified as Tasleem Sheikh and Shabana Sheikh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, their alleged associate Tahir Abbasi<\/strong> managed to escape from the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said a total of 1,320 gutka sachets packed in 12 packets<\/strong> were recovered from the arrested and fleeing suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A case, registered as Crime No. 139\/2026<\/strong>, was filed under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City Police also took action against proclaimed and absconding suspects. Police said an absconding suspect wanted in Crime No. 493\/2026<\/strong>, registered under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code, was taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Section Police Operations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

SHO Inspector Munir Ahmed Abbasi<\/strong>, along with his staff, also conducted several operations in the jurisdiction of A-Section Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During patrolling, police arrested three individuals identified as Molchand Thakur, Ashok Thakur and Sajan Thakur<\/strong> for allegedly violating a ban imposed by the Hyderabad Commissioner on bathing in the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the suspects had allegedly violated Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A case, registered as Crime No. 360\/2026<\/strong>, was filed against the three suspects under Sections 188 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another operation, A-Section Police arrested Faraz Ali<\/strong> and recovered four bottles of liquor<\/strong> from his possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, another suspect accompanying him managed to escape, leaving behind four additional bottles of liquor at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A case, registered as Crime No. 361\/2026<\/strong>, was filed against the arrested and fleeing suspects under Sections 3\/4 of the Prohibition (Hudood) Order<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During further investigation, police said the arrested suspect Faraz Ali disclosed his alleged involvement in motorcycle theft incidents within the jurisdiction of A-Section Police Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on information provided during the investigation, police recovered two stolen motorcycles<\/strong> linked to cases registered as Crime No. 248\/2026 and Crime No. 308\/2026<\/strong> under Section 381-A of the Pakistan Penal Code<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another operation, A-Section Police arrested alleged drug supplier Shahzad Ali Qureshi<\/strong> and recovered 1 kilogram and 110 grams of hashish (charas)<\/strong> from his possession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police registered Crime No. 362\/2026<\/strong> against the suspect under the relevant provisions of the Narcotics Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A-Section Police also continued action against proclaimed and absconding suspects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police arrested Abdul Basit<\/strong>, who was allegedly absconding in Crime No. 190\/2026<\/strong>, registered under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another absconding suspect, identified as Adeel<\/strong>, was arrested in connection with Crime Nos. 162\/2023, 184\/2023 and 247\/2023<\/strong>, all registered under Section 489-F of the Pakistan Penal Code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airport Check Post Operation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An additional operation was conducted by personnel of the Airport Check Post<\/strong> under the supervision of In-charge Sub-Inspector Mohsin Jamali<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During patrolling, Airport Police arrested an alleged drug seller identified as Daud Zafar Christian<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police recovered three bottles of liquor<\/strong> from his possession and registered Crime No. 363\/2026<\/strong> against him under Sections 3\/4 of the Prohibition (Hudood) Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Hyderabad District Police, further legal proceedings against the arrested absconding suspects are currently underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police officials said investigations into the registered cases would continue and further action would be taken on the basis of evidence and information obtained during the investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hyderabad Police maintained that operations against criminal elements, drug suppliers and sellers of hazardous mainpuri and gutka would continue across the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The police department said the ongoing crackdown was being conducted under the directives of senior officers to improve law and order and prevent the distribution of illegal and harmful substances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The authorities also reiterated their commitment to taking action against individuals involved in criminal activities and to bringing wanted and absconding suspects before the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
