The Regional Office District Badin the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh today organized a awareness seminar at The Badin Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences, Badin on the Protection Against Harassment of Women at the Workplace Act (Act IV of 2010).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The primary objective of the seminar was to educate students, faculty members, administrative staff, and employees about legal protection against workplace harassment, employees’ rights, and the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful and equal professional environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The key speaker, Retired District and Sessions Judge Mr. Saleem Raza Baloch, delivered a detailed presentation on the legal framework of Act IV of 2010, its key provisions, and effective measures for preventing workplace harassment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He emphasized that the fundamental purpose of this law is to eliminate harassment and discriminatory behavior against women, enabling them to perform their professional responsibilities with dignity, confidence, and peace of mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Saleem Raza Baloch stated, “Breaking the silence is the first and most important step toward eliminating harassment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also explained the legal procedure for filing complaints, the role of the institutional Inquiry Committee, and the process of submitting complaints to the Provincial Ombudsman. Furthermore, he highlighted that the law guarantees complete confidentiality of the complainant’s identity and provides full protection against any form of retaliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The seminar was attended by the management, faculty members, students, and staff of Badin Institute of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences, Badin. The institute’s administration highly appreciated the awareness program and reaffirmed its commitment to a Zero-Tolerance Policy against all forms of harassment, while reiterating its dedication to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and equitable educational and professional environment for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
