The court had directed the jail administration to provide the books to the PTI founder during his incarceration.

The deputy superintendent confirmed that all eight books received from the Islamabad High Court were subsequently handed over to Imran Khan in jail.

However, Imran Khan returned four of the books, explaining that he had already read them. The remaining books were retained by him, according to the jail authorities.

The development comes amid continued legal proceedings concerning Imran Khan, who has been incarcerated in connection with several cases. His lawyers and supporters have repeatedly raised concerns regarding his access to books, reading material and other facilities during his imprisonment.

The provision of books has been a matter of interest in the context of Imran Khan’s time in jail, as the former premier has frequently spoken about reading and writing. During his incarceration, reports about his access to books have attracted attention among his political supporters and the wider public.

The latest development also highlights the role of the Islamabad High Court in addressing requests related to facilities available to the PTI founder in prison. The court’s direction resulted in the jail administration receiving the eight books and making arrangements to deliver them to Imran Khan.

The jail official did not provide details about the titles of the books that were sent to the prison. It was also not immediately clear which four books Imran Khan kept after returning the other four.

The deputy superintendent’s statement, however, confirmed that the court’s instructions had been followed and that the books had reached the intended recipient.

Imran Khan, who served as Pakistan’s prime minister from August 2018 to April 2022, has remained at the center of the country’s political and legal developments since his removal from office through a vote of no confidence. His subsequent arrest in various cases has generated significant political debate, with the PTI maintaining that many of the cases against its founder are politically motivated. Authorities and opposing political parties have rejected such allegations.

The former prime minister’s imprisonment has also been accompanied by a series of court proceedings involving his appeals, bail applications and challenges to convictions. His legal team has continued to approach different courts seeking relief and raising issues concerning his legal and prison rights.

Access to reading material is generally considered one of the routine facilities available to prisoners, subject to prison regulations and restrictions imposed by the relevant authorities. In Imran Khan’s case, the matter of providing books was brought before the Islamabad High Court, which subsequently directed that the requested material be made available to him.

The jail administration’s latest statement indicates that the process has now been completed. Eight books were received from the high court and handed over to Imran Khan. Of these, four were returned because he said he had already read them.

The development is likely to attract further attention among PTI supporters, particularly because of the former premier’s longstanding interest in books and intellectual discussions. Imran Khan has previously spoken publicly about history, politics, philosophy, religion and international affairs, subjects that have also featured prominently in his speeches and political discourse.

For now, jail authorities have confirmed only the number of books received and the fact that four were returned. No further information regarding the contents or titles of the books has been disclosed.

The episode reflects the continuing legal and administrative issues surrounding Imran Khan’s imprisonment. While his legal battles remain ongoing, his access to personal and reading materials continues to be addressed through the courts and prison administration.

The Islamabad High Court’s directions in this matter have therefore resulted in the requested books being delivered to the PTI founder. The jail administration has confirmed compliance with the instructions, while Imran Khan has chosen to return half of the books because he had already read them.

The incident is another example of how even routine matters concerning the former prime minister’s imprisonment can become part of the broader legal and political discussion surrounding his detention.

ISLAMABAD: Books have been provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan in jail following directions from the Islamabad High Court…

[3

post-10432","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1-150x150.jpg",150,150,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1-300x171.jpg",300,171,true
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"1536x1536":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false],"2048x2048":["https://paksouch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/439798_4908377_updates-1.jpg",700,400,false
admin
["GET
