LARKANA <\/strong> District Education Officer Primary Larkana Anis-ur-Rehman Jalbani, DEO Secondary Abdul Rasheed Chandio and other officials visited the Rescue 1122 centre in Larkana to review its arrangements and emergency services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the media, Anis-ur-Rehman Jalbani said that a parade was scheduled at the Rescue 1122 office in connection with Independence Day celebrations on August 14. He said officials of Rescue 1122, including Irfan Sheikh and Shehryar, briefed the visiting officials about the department’s services and showed them different facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Rescue 1122 was not limited to ambulance services and had a much wider role in dealing with emergencies. According to him, the department has modern machinery and trained staff capable of responding to difficult situations. He praised the Rescue 1122 staff for remaining prepared to deal with emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also described the establishment of Rescue 1122 in Larkana as a major facility for local residents and appreciated the work of its young staff. Advocate Qadeer Piyal Domki, Nisar Mugheri and others were also present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tree Plantation Campaign<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Larkana also witnessed the launch of a tree plantation campaign titled \u201cPlant for Pakistan Green Week\u201d<\/strong>, organised by Green Sindh Foundation from August 8 to August 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The campaign was launched at the General Post Office in Larkana, where Green Sindh Foundation head Zulfiqar Magsi, Senior Postmaster Sanaullah Soomro, Sadaqat Kakar, Haji Asghar Arijo and Zahid Qureshi planted saplings in the GPO lawn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on the occasion, the organisers said that increasing greenery was an important need in view of the country’s environmental challenges and climate change. They appealed to citizens to plant trees as an expression of love for Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Green Sindh Foundation said it planned to plant thousands of saplings at union council level and would coordinate with local communities and elected representatives to expand the campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urs of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Held<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The 108th annual Urs of the renowned Islamic scholar Imam Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi was also observed with religious devotion at Jamia Masjid Al-Barkat in Shahbaz Colony, Larkana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was organised by Dawat-e-Islami. Scholar Allama Muhammad Hanif Attari Madani spoke about the religious and scholarly services of Imam Ahmed Raza Khan and his devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said Imam Ahmed Raza Khan had expertise in numerous fields of knowledge and played an important role in promoting religious learning and love for the Prophet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dawat-e-Islami representatives Muhammad Younis Attari, Muhammad Zeeshan Attari, Qari Muhammad Saeed Attari and others attended the gathering. Well-known Naat reciters from Sindh, including Muhammad Adil Qazi Attari and Muhammad Faisal Attari, presented Naats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme concluded with the distribution of food and prayers for peace, prosperity, unity and the welfare of people in Pakistan and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educational Workshop on Humanity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Anjuman Talaba-e-Islam Larkana organised an educational and training workshop at several well-known educational institutions under the theme \u201cThe Prophet of Revolution and the Philosophy of Humanity.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A large number of students and teachers attended the programme. Muhammad Babar Ghafari, Deputy Nazim of ATI Sindh Region 2, delivered a special lecture on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), focusing on human values, justice, tolerance, brotherhood, education and service to humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also discussed the responsible and constructive use of artificial intelligence in the modern era. He said modern technology and AI should be used for human welfare, education and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop also featured Sahibzada Muhammad Masoom Ghafari, who spoke about human character, morality, mutual respect and the importance of Islamic teachings in building a better society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants asked questions about religious teachings, education and modern technology. Certificates of appreciation were distributed among participating students and teachers at the conclusion of the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elderly Worker Alleges Harassment<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An elderly worker from Rasoolabad, Larkana, held a protest outside the press club, alleging harassment and threats from influential individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protester, Muhammad Ali Chandio, said he was a poor worker supporting his family through a small rental business. He alleged that he purchased an 800-square-foot residential property in 2022 for Rs680,000 and had paid the full amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He claimed that the seller, along with several relatives, later came to his house and allegedly demanded that he vacate the property. He further alleged that a false complaint was filed against him after he refused.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He appealed to senior police officials to investigate the matter, take legal action if the allegations were proven and provide him protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worker Alleges Livestock Theft<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In another protest, a worker from Ratodero alleged that influential people forcibly entered his house and took away livestock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The complainant, Inam Sheikh, claimed that 15 buffaloes were stolen from his house about a year ago and that he had informed police. He further alleged that after a dispute, the accused were ordered to pay compensation and had paid him part of the amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He alleged that the same individuals later entered his home with armed associates, took away dozens of buffaloes and goats and assaulted him and his sons. He said some livestock was later returned but claimed that several animals were still missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He appealed to higher authorities to investigate the matter, recover the remaining livestock and provide justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PST and JEST Waiting Candidates Continue Protest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

More than 40 PST and JEST candidates who passed tests conducted through IBA continued their protest for the 15th consecutive day at Jinnah Bagh in Larkana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The candidates said they had been protesting for hundreds of days and were demanding appointments on merit. They alleged that deserving candidates were being ignored and called for the recruitment process to be reviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protesters demanded an extension of the relevant time period so that the remaining waiting candidates could be appointed. They also demanded changes to the existing recruitment policy, including consideration of candidates at district, division or provincial level instead of restricting appointments to tehsil-level vacancies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They warned that if the government and relevant authorities failed to take a practical decision, they would expand their protest and consider demonstrating outside Bilawal House.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
