The operations were described as limited and aimed at preventing escalation of conflict in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports indicate that <strong>Aidarus al-Zoubaidi<\/strong>, the head of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), failed to board a scheduled flight to Riyadh on Tuesday night, instead fleeing to an unknown location. Al-Zoubaidi was expected to participate in talks between the Yemeni government and southern separatist factions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Saudi-led coalition stated that intelligence revealed al-Zoubaidi had mobilized a large armed force in Al-Dhalea, including both heavy and light weaponry. Early morning airstrikes were carried out at around 4 a.m. to preempt potential clashes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council issued a statement accusing al-Zoubaidi of treason.
