Sukkur (Report Muhammad Anees): Shopkeepers in Sukkur\u2019s Gharibabad area staged a protest against the unrestricted movement of rickshaws inside the central Ladies Bazaar and expressed serious anger over the administration\u2019s alleged lack of attention to the issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protesters demanded that rickshaws be immediately stopped from entering the market. They said that the movement of rickshaws through the narrow internal streets creates serious difficulties for women shoppers and has also led to frequent arguments, disputes and disorder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The shopkeepers claimed that several incidents of clashes and physical fights between rickshaw drivers and shopkeepers had already taken place. They described the situation as a serious concern for both traders and visitors to the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The protesters demanded that bamboo barriers or other suitable barricades be installed at the entrances of the market to prevent rickshaws from entering. They also called for a designated parking and stopping area for rickshaws outside the bazaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The shopkeepers appealed to the Mayor of Sukkur and other relevant authorities to take immediate action and ensure that police personnel are deployed to prevent rickshaws from entering the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
