Matiari The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) District Matiari organized a solemn ceremony at Hashmi House, Matiari, to commemorate the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, one of the most tragic incidents in Pakistan’s political history. The event, hosted by District President Pir Amir Shah Hashmi and Pir Raza Shah Hashmi, featured Quran Khwani and special prayers for the souls of the martyrs who lost their lives in the 2007 Karsaz bombing during the return procession of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The gathering began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Fateha, offered as Eesal-e-Sawab for the departed souls. The event drew participation from several notable personalities, including Sindh Government Spokesperson and MPA Matiari Makhdoom Fakhar-uz-Zaman, Syed Fazil Habib Shah, President of New Saeedabad Taluka Rais Ghani Memon, Izzat Brahmani, Pir Safdar Shah Hashmi, Pir Raza Hashmi, Akbar Bhutto, Mashooq Manghwani, Junaid Saleh Jakhraijo, Shaman Sehto, and many other party members and local representatives.
Speaking on the occasion, Pir Amir Shah Hashmi paid glowing tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, describing them as heroes of democracy and defenders of the nation’s freedom. He said that the martyrs laid down their lives for democratic values, the rights of the people, and the stability of Pakistan, lighting the flame of democracy with their sacrifices.
