Lahore, October 14: Two newly appointed ministers have officially joined the Punjab cabinet after taking the oath of office at a ceremony held at the Governor House in Lahore. The oath was administered by Governor Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider, marking the formal induction of the new members into the provincial government.
The ceremony was attended by Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, senior provincial minister Maryam Aurangzeb, and the newly appointed Advisor to the Chief Minister, Anusha Rahman. Several other cabinet members and government officials were also present at the event, which underscored the expanding structure of the provincial administration.
According to official sources, the two new ministers sworn into the cabinet are Rana Iqbal and Manshaullah Butt. Their inclusion is part of an ongoing effort by the Punjab government to strengthen its executive team and ensure more effective governance across key administrative sectors.
Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, while administering the oath, expressed hope that the newly inducted ministers would work diligently to uphold the values of transparency, efficiency, and public service. He emphasized that the province faces significant challenges in areas such as economic management, education, and infrastructure, and that strong coordination within the cabinet would be essential to address these effectively.
The ceremony reflected the provincial government’s intention to bring experienced politicians into leadership roles. Rana Iqbal and Manshaullah Butt are both seasoned members of the ruling party, known for their active involvement in political and developmental initiatives at the provincial level. Their induction is expected to help distribute responsibilities more evenly within the cabinet and accelerate the implementation of pending policy programs.
Speaking informally after the ceremony, senior officials indicated that additional changes and expansions in the cabinet lineup may be announced in the coming weeks as the Chief Minister continues to review performance and priorities across departments. The reshuffle aims to energize administrative functioning and ensure that key governance objectives are met efficiently.
The new ministers are expected to assume their respective portfolios within the next few days, after formal notifications are issued by the provincial government. Insiders suggest that both will likely be assigned departments linked to social welfare and public services — areas identified as high priority by the new provincial leadership.
