The global mobile app industry continues to expand rapidly, with billions of applications downloaded every day. According to the latest data, Pakistan has secured the 9th position worldwide in total app downloads for the year 2024, reaching approximately 3.56 billion downloads.
Interestingly, Pakistan held the same position in 2022 with 3.5 billion downloads, reflecting the country’s sustained growth and strong presence in the digital ecosystem. Experts note that Pakistan has now emerged as one of the fastest-growing mobile and technology markets globally.
In 2022, app downloads in Pakistan surged by 35.4%, a rise attributed to the increasing availability of smartphones and broader internet access across the country.
At the global level, China leads with the highest number of app downloads, followed by India, the United States, and Brazil. Indonesia ranks fourth, maintaining its strong regional presence in the app economy.
Technology analysts predict that Pakistan’s app download rate will continue to rise in the coming years, driven primarily by the country’s youthful population, growing freelancing culture, and expanding digital infrastructure.
If this momentum continues, Pakistan is poised to become one of the world’s largest app markets, marking a major milestone in its digital transformation journey.
