Hyderabad: The newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari, received a grand welcome from the university’s faculty and staff, marking a moment of unity, optimism, and renewed commitment to academic excellence. The university community, including a large number of professors, administrative officials, and employees, gathered in the Senate Hall to greet the new Vice Chancellor with garlands, bouquets, and traditional Sindhi Ajraks as symbols of respect and cultural pride.
The reception was organized under the supervision of Syndicate member and Director of the Dr. M.A. Kazi Institute of Chemistry, Professor Dr. Irfana Begum Mallah. The event was attended by many distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Ahmed Ali Brohi, Dr. Shah Murad Chandio, and Abdul Rahman Nangraj, among others, who all expressed their enthusiasm and confidence in the leadership of the new Vice Chancellor. In his address to the gathering, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Muhammad Mari thanked the teaching community for their overwhelming support and extended a heartfelt appreciation for their warm welcome. He further stated that the administration would strive to enhance the teaching and research environment, ensure fair opportunities for staff and faculty, and meet the legitimate expectations of all university employees. “Our mission is to transform this prestigious institution into a model of educational quality, research innovation, and integrity,” Dr. Mari said, adding that sustained progress can only be achieved through unity and mutual trust among all segments of the university community.
Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr. Irfana Begum Mallah also expressed full confidence in the new leadership, noting that the teaching community looks forward to dynamic progress under Dr. Mari’s capable guidance. She said that the faculty members believe his leadership will bring new energy to academic and research activities, and that his experience and vision will help secure government funding to further enhance the university’s development and modernization.
Earlier in the day, a delegation of non-teaching employees from various departments, led by Muhammad Ali Ghhanghro, Zulfiqar Ali Rustamani, and Ahmed Ali Kumbhar, also met with the Vice Chancellor in the Senate Hall. The employees formally welcomed him with floral bouquets and traditional Ajraks, expressing their goodwill and hopes for improved working conditions and institutional reforms. Several members of the staff also delivered short speeches, pledging their cooperation and dedication to the university’s collective progress.
