Karachi: Cyclone Shakti in the Arabian Sea has intensified, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The cyclone is currently located in the northwestern Arabian Sea, approximately 700 kilometers southwest of Karachi. PMD officials have confirmed that Cyclone Shakti has reached its peak intensity. However, authorities assured that Pakistan’s coastal areas are not under any immediate threat from the storm. The cyclone is expected to start weakening from tomorrow onward.
Meanwhile, the PMD has forecasted warm and cloudy weather in Karachi today, with scattered light rainfall expected in various parts of the city.
The maximum temperature in Karachi is likely to reach 34°C, while residents are advised to remain cautious of sudden weather changes and possible localized showers.
Meteorologists continue to monitor Cyclone Shakti’s movement closely and will update the public on any changes that might affect the coastal regions.
