Karachi: District City Police have arrested 15 gutka/maawa suppliers during multiple targeted operations. A significant quantity of gutka, maawa, and betel nuts was recovered from their possession.
According to the police spokesperson, the arrests were carried out in the jurisdictions of Kalri, Baghdadi, Kharadar, Nabi Bakhsh, and Napier police stations. The arrested suspects have been identified as Muhammad Ali alias Meem, Kamran, Amir, Noman, Ashiq Ali, Zubair, Sheharyar, Ahmed, Muhammad Ayub, Abdul Haseeb, Muhammad Siddiq, Abdul Majeed Dashti, Muhammad Owais, Muhammad Zeeshan alias Jimmy, and Imran.
The spokesperson added that the suspects are habitual and professional offenders. Among them, Muhammad Zeeshan alias Jimmy had previously been arrested in four gutka/maawa-related cases, while Ahmed had also been arrested once before for a similar offense.
Cases have been registered against all suspects at the respective police stations, and they have been handed over to the Investigation authorities for further legal proceedings.
