Karachi police have rolled out a special traffic management plan ahead of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl)’s rally scheduled to take place today near M.R. Kayani Chowk and the Arts Council. The arrangements have been made to manage congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow in central parts of the city during the event.
According to the Karachi Traffic Police, the road stretch from Shaheen Complex to Fawara Chowk will remain closed for all vehicles during the rally. Alternative routes and diversions have been identified to ease pressure on adjoining arteries.
Key diversions include:
- Ziauddin Signal traffic will be redirected toward Club Chowk on Shahrah-e-Faisal.
- Vehicles moving from Shaheen Complex toward Press Club will be diverted to PIDC and Shahrah-e-Faisal.
- Traffic approaching from PIDC will be rerouted toward Avari Hotel.
- Those coming from Rex Center toward Fawara Chowk will be diverted either to Avari or onward toward Clifton.
- Vehicles moving from Chhatri Chowk toward M.R. Kayani will be redirected to S.M. Law College Road.
- Traffic from Ahl-e-Hadees Chowk toward M.R. Kayani will instead be diverted to Shahrah-e-Liaquat.
Authorities have urged commuters to plan their journeys accordingly, use alternative routes, and cooperate with police to minimize inconvenience. Additional personnel have been deployed in and around the rally venue to guide motorists and ensure compliance with the diversions.
