YouTuber Ducky Bhai Granted Further Two-Day Physical Remand by Lahore Court

In the latest development of the ongoing case against prominent Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, a Lahore district court has approved an extension of his physical remand for an additional two days. The decision came during a hearing that was briefly delayed due to the absence of the social media star’s legal counsel.

The proceedings, which took place in the district courts of Lahore, saw Ducky Bhai presented before the judicial magistrate. However, the start of the hearing was postponed by approximately ten minutes as the court awaited the arrival of his lawyer. This minor delay underscored the procedural nature of the day’s events before the significant decision was made.

Upon the arrival of Advocate Usman Mushtaq, the defense requested the court for an opportunity for their client to address the bench. Given the platform to speak, Ducky Bhai made a notable statement before the court. He declared, “I am satisfied with all the investigation conducted so far. If the institutions wish to conduct further inquiry, they may do so. I respect the institutions.” This voluntary statement was interpreted by many as an attempt to demonstrate cooperation with the investigative authorities.

Contrary to the defendant’s show of compliance, the investigating officer presented a different perspective to the court. The officer formally requested a five-day extension of the physical remand. The justification provided for this request was the ongoing need to recover crucial digital evidence from the accused. Specifically, the investigation team stated that they required more time to extract and analyze devices and online accounts linked to Ducky Bhai, which are considered vital to their probe.

After considering the arguments from both sides—the defense’s presentation of their client’s cooperative stance and the prosecution’s demand for more time for evidence recovery—the court delivered its ruling. The judicial magistrate opted for a middle ground, granting an extension of the physical remand but for a period shorter than the five days sought by the investigators. The court approved a further two-day physical remand, ordering that Ducky Bhai be handed over to the physical custody of the investigating agency for this duration.

The court also set a definitive date for the next hearing, instructing that the popular YouTuber must be produced again before the court on September 5. This order ensures the legal process will continue its course early next week, where the status of the investigation and the need for any further remand will be re-evaluated.

The case against Ducky Bhai, which has attracted significant media attention and public discourse, continues to unfold. His physical remand allows investigators to continue their interrogation and evidence collection process while he remains in their custody. The outcome of the ongoing investigation in the next two days will likely determine the future course of legal action against the social media influencer.
