BHIT SHAH: Panic gripped the Bhit Shah area when armed assailants attempted to loot a petrol pump situated on the Hala–Bhit Shah link road near the town. The incident occurred at Haji Ali Nawaz Brohi’s petrol pump, where unidentified gunmen stormed the premises and tried to snatch cash and valuables from the employees at gunpoint.
According to initial reports, the petrol pump workers resisted the robbery attempt, leading to indiscriminate firing by the assailants. As a result, two employees — Dildar Rind, son of Waheed Bux Rind, and Roshan Ali Khaskheli, son of Hameed Khaskheli — sustained serious bullet wounds.
The injured workers were immediately rushed to the Rural Health Center (RHC) Bhit Shah, where doctors provided first aid. However, due to the critical nature of their injuries, both victims were later referred to Hyderabad for advanced medical treatment.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers fled the scene after the gunfire, leaving behind chaos and fear in the area. The shocking incident has sparked widespread panic among locals, who expressed concerns over the rising wave of crime in Bhit Shah and surrounding areas. Residents complained that despite repeated robberies, police response has been limited to merely lodging FIRs rather than preventing crimes or ensuring protection for citizens.
Local people demanded immediate action, stating that criminal incidents have been increasing almost daily in the area, but law enforcement has failed to curb the trend.
Meanwhile, police officials confirmed the incident and stated that a manhunt has been launched to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the robbery attempt. Authorities assured that the culprits would soon be brought to justice.
